Smallville (Superman) Then and Now! Where are they now?
“Smallville,” tells the story of a young Clark Kent before he became Superman. He is in high school and trying to figure out how to be a superhero at the same time. “Smallville” was around before the Arrowverse. It started in 2001 and aired for a total of 10 years. “Smallville,” told the story of a teenager named Clark Kent who lived on a farm with his adopted parents, Jonathon and Martha Kent.
At the start of the show, he already had Superman’s speed and power. As the show went on, Clark got new powers, like being able to hear better, see heat, and see X-rays. As if going through puberty wasn’t enough for a kid to deal with! He also lives next door to Lana Lang, the girl he likes, who is dating Whitney Forman, the most famous football player at school.
When Clark wasn’t saving people from certain death, he was getting to know a rich guy named Lex Luther. Lex wasn’t always bad. When “Smallville” first started, Lex didn’t seem like such a bad guy. Clark was always a little cold, which didn’t help.

Fans of “Smallville” knew Clark Kent was Superman the whole time, but he didn’t wear his famous red-and-blue superhero outfit until the end of the show in 2011. Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, who made the show together, chose to do this. This was because the show wasn’t about a superhero. Instead, it was about a teenager who was trying to figure out who he was before someone else did. This show was about who the character was before he put on a suit and cape.
Then, in Season 2, Superman was added to the Arrowverse. This time, Typer Hoechlin got to wear the red cape, but Welling did make an appearance in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, which aired in 2019. But what have the actors been doing since the show stopped in 2011? Find out what your favorite actors and actresses are doing now.
Tom Welling
After 10 years as Clark Kent, this actor from New York came back to the DC world in 2017. On “Lucifer,” he played Cain again. He also appeared in “The Choice,” “Cheaper by the Dozen,” and “Parkland,” and he was an executive producer on “Hellcats.” In 2019, he married Jessica Rose Lee, and they had two boys, Rocklin and Thomas.
Kristin Kreuk
Lana Lang, Kent’s famous crush and girlfriend, was played by this Canadian beauty. After the show, she got a lead part on the CW’s “Beauty and the Beast.” She was also in the legal thriller “Burden of Truth,” but she was better known for being in the NXIVM scandal with her co-star Allison Mack. She left the group in 2013.
Eric Johnson
Eric Johnson, who is known for playing clichéd jocks, played Whitney Fordham for the whole first season until the football player was written out of the show. Today, he is known for playing Anastasia Steel’s bad boss Jack Hyde in “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.” He has also been in TV shows like “Orphan Black,” “Supernatural,” “Rookie Blue,” and “American Vikings.” In 2004, he married the actress Adria Budd, and they have a daughter together.

Sam played Clark’s close friend Pete Ross on “Smallville.” When he left the show in 2004, he went on to appear on other popular shows like “Bones,” “7th Heaven,” and “ER.” He was in jail for 10 months, which was a shame. Jones was found guilty of conspiring to have illegal drugs with the plan to sell them, but after he got out of jail, he went back to acting and starred in the movies “All Light Will End” and “Of Fortune and Gold.”
Allison Mack
This German actress was caught because she was a member of Keith Raniere’s NXIVM sex cult and played the editor of the school newspaper, Chloe Sullivan. She has been in comedies like “Wilfred” with Elijah Wood, but she was just sentenced to three years in jail, so it’s not clear what will happen with the rest of her acting career.
Annette O’Toole
Decades before she played Clark Kent’s adoptive mother, O’Toole was the famous Lana Lang in “Superman III.” Comes around, doesn’t it? Later, this experienced actor was in episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Catch Fire,” and the Netflix hit “Virgin River.” Michael McKean has been her husband for a long time. They got married in 1999. After his character Jonathon Kent died in 2006, John Schneider left “Smallville.” Since then, he’s been on popular shows like “Desperate Housewives” and “90210” as well as “Glee” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” He got married to Alicia Allain in 2019.
Justyn Hartley
